Addressing the recipients, Sheikh Bukenya urged beneficiaries to remain appreciative of the support extended to them and to uphold values of compassion and generosity.

“You should remain God-conscious, thankful to Allah and appreciative of the Muslim brothers from Switzerland for demonstrating compassion and generosity towards others. You should emulate such values and also share with the rest of your family members,” Sheikh Bukenya said.

The Deputy Mufti and the visiting delegation later travelled to Kyerima village, where they attended a colourful wedding ceremony for deaf couples whose marriages were fully sponsored by the charity.

The first couple included groom Nasser Jalita and bride Nassiwe Nusura, while the second couple comprised groom Abdu-Karim Mugabi and bride Latifa Nantongo.

The newlyweds received assorted gifts, including mattresses, bicycles, clothes, food items and other household necessities. Guests were also treated to meals and refreshments provided by the sponsors.

The function attracted a large gathering of relatives, parents and community leaders, including Sheikh Umar Gugumiza, who encouraged the couples to remain united and supportive of one another in marriage.

Using a sign language interpreter, Sheikh Gugumiza advised the couples to uphold love, patience and faith in building strong and lasting families.

Sheikh Bukenya thanked the sponsors for their continued generosity and urged the newlyweds to remain committed to one another and work towards building stable homes and responsible families.
